The tour started with an introduction to UC Berkeley Lab and its mission to advance the understanding of earthquake behavior and develop innovative solutions for seismic protection.

During the tour, the UCCSFBA members had the opportunity to gain knowledge various experiments conducted by the researchers. They watched videos of the testing of different building materials and structural systems under simulated earthquake conditions. Through these demonstrations, the members gained insights into the challenges faced in designing earthquake-resistant structures and the measures taken to ensure their safety.

PhD. Shakhzod Takhirov guided the participants through the different research projects being conducted at the lab. He explained the importance of earthquake engineering in regions prone to earthquakes, such as Uzbekistan.
